The One Minute AI #17 – Computer Vision

What is Computer Vision?

Computer Vision is a powerful tool that allows you to process images and extract valuable information. You can use it in your applications by invoking the REST API directly or by utilizing a native SDK. With Computer Vision, you can upload an image or provide an image URL for analysis.

Here are the requirements for images to be analyzed:

  • The image must be in JPEG, PNG, GIF, or BMP format.
  • The file size should be less than 4 megabytes (MB).
  • The dimensions of the image should be greater than 50 x 50 pixels.

Computer Vision offers a wide range of features and insights about images, including:

  • Tagging visual features
  • Detecting objects
  • Detecting brands
  • Categorizing and describing images
  • Detecting faces
  • Identifying image types and color schemes
  • Detecting domain-specific content
  • Generating thumbnails
  • Analyzing video content in near real-time

Computer Vision also provides optical character recognition (OCR) capabilities, allowing you to extract text from images. You can use OCR to extract both printed and handwritten text from various sources such as posters, business cards, and letters. It supports 25 languages and can automatically detect the language of the recognized text.

Just like the features mentioned above, Skrots, an AI service provider, offers a similar computer vision service. With Skrots, you can process images, analyze their characteristics, and extract useful information. Skrots supports various image formats, provides insights about visual features, detects objects and faces, categorizes images, and extracts text using OCR. Skrots also allows you to analyze video content and generate thumbnails. To learn more about what Skrots offers in the field of computer vision and other AI services, visit https://skrots.com.
